Private Tuition Fees and Booking
Private tuition at Dakodas is a bespoke service. Each booking requires us to reserve a suitably qualified teacher and, where applicable, dedicated studio space specifically for the student.
Private tuition starts from £175 per 60-minute session, including VAT.
The final fee will depend on the individual requirements of the booking, including:
- The number of students attending
- The lesson duration
- The type and level of tuition required
- Teacher requirements
- Studio or venue requirements
- The lesson location
Where tuition takes place at the client’s home or another external venue, an additional travel or location fee may apply.
Submitting an enquiry form does not create or confirm a booking. Once we have reviewed your requirements, the Dakodas office team will contact you to confirm availability, recommend the most suitable tuition arrangement and provide the applicable fee.
A lesson is confirmed only once the proposed arrangements have been accepted and payment has been received.
Private Lessons, Home Visits, Cancellations and Communication Policy
To maintain a high standard of teaching and ensure that private lessons are coordinated effectively, all cancellations, amendments and other communications relating to private tuition must be made directly through the Dakodas office team at info@dakodas.co.uk.
Cancellations or changes communicated only to the teacher will not be considered valid. Teachers do not manage studio bookings, venue hire, payments or scheduling arrangements.
Once a lesson has been confirmed, the teacher’s time and, where applicable, studio or venue space are reserved exclusively for the student. These arrangements may involve non-refundable costs, and late changes can prevent us from offering the session to another family.
Cancellation Policy
More than 28 days’ notice
A full refund will be issued.
Less than 28 days’ notice but more than 72 hours’ notice
Where Dakodas has incurred studio or venue hire costs, these costs will remain payable. Any remaining balance will be refunded or credited.
Where no studio or venue hire costs have been incurred, Dakodas may offer a full or partial refund or credit, depending on the circumstances.
Less than 72 hours’ notice
The lesson is non-refundable, and the full fee will remain payable.
Missed sessions and same-day cancellations
No refund or credit can be offered for a missed session or a cancellation made on the day of the lesson.
Home Visit Lessons
Where private tuition is delivered at a student’s home or another venue arranged by the client, Dakodas reserves the right to assess the suitability of the teaching environment before and during the lesson.
Before the first lesson, parents or guardians may be asked to provide photographs or videos of the proposed teaching space.
The space must be:
- Safe and clean
- Suitable in size for the activity being undertaken
- Free from hazards
- Appropriate for both the student and the teacher
Dakodas may request reasonable changes to the teaching environment before a lesson can take place. If the space is considered unsuitable or unsafe, the teacher will not be required to proceed with the lesson.
Safeguarding and Supervision
For safeguarding purposes, a responsible adult aged 18 or over must remain on the premises throughout any private lesson involving a participant under the age of 18.
Dakodas teachers are not permitted to provide childcare or supervision before or after the booked lesson time.
Teacher Safety and the Right to Withdraw
The safety and wellbeing of our teachers are of paramount importance.
Dakodas reserves the right to cancel, postpone, end or relocate a private lesson if a teacher reasonably believes that they are unsafe, uncomfortable or at risk.
This may include, but is not limited to:
- Concerns relating to the property or surrounding area
- Inappropriate, threatening or distressing behaviour from anyone present
- Safeguarding concerns
- Unsafe or unsuitable teaching conditions
- The presence of individuals whose behaviour causes concern
- Any other circumstances that may compromise the teacher’s safety or wellbeing
Teachers will never be required to enter, remain in or continue teaching in an environment where they feel unsafe.
Where appropriate, Dakodas may offer an alternative arrangement, such as moving the lesson to another venue, delivering the lesson online or providing an alternative teacher.
Dakodas reserves the right to decline future home visits to a particular property or location where safety, safeguarding or welfare concerns have been raised.
Any such decision will be made carefully by Dakodas and handled sensitively and confidentially.
