About DAKODAS

Our story, mission, values, and the passionate team behind London's premier dance and performing arts academy.

OUR STORY

DAKODAS Dance & Performing Arts Academy was founded in 2008 by Dakoda Matthews-Forth, whose vision began with just 3 baby ballerinas and a passion to create a space where young performers could receive the highest caliber of training in an environment that nurtures both artistic and personal growth.

What began as a small studio with those 3 young dancers has flourished into London's premier performing arts academy, with multiple locations and a thriving community of students across all age groups and disciplines.

Today, DAKODAS is recognized for its exceptional training programs, professional productions, and most importantly, for the confidence and joy it instills in every student who walks through our doors.

OUR MISSION

To inspire and empower young people through exceptional dance & performing arts education, fostering creativity, building confidence, and developing skills that extend beyond the stage and into all aspects of life.

Our Ethos & Values

At DAKODA'S, we believe that performing arts education goes far beyond technical training. Our ethos centers on developing the whole person - nurturing not just skilled performers, but confident, compassionate, and resilient individuals who carry these qualities into every aspect of their lives.

1. Excellence

We strive for the highest standards in everything we do — from technique and performance to teaching and communication — ensuring every child reaches their full potential.

2. Kindness

We foster a culture of encouragement, respect, and empathy. Our students and staff lift each other up, creating a safe and supportive environment for all.

3. Confidence

We help children grow in self-belief both on and off the stage, encouraging expression, individuality, and courage through the performing arts.

4. Creativity

We celebrate imagination and originality, empowering our students to explore movement, music, and storytelling in innovative and meaningful ways.

5. perseverance

We teach resilience — embracing progress over perfection, learning through challenges, and building the determination to keep going with heart and grace.
